Of the five restaurants in the swanky Park Hyatt Tokyo, New York Grill is arguably the most heavenly, thanks to its sky-high perch on the 52nd floor — not to mention its oversized, above-ground wine cellar containing Japan’s largest selection of American wines. Each month one is featured, by the glass or by the bottle, matching well with set-course menus that go by names reminiscent of the City that Never Sleeps: Manhattan, SoHo and Madison Ave. To keep the theme going, Italian pop artist Valero Adami was commissioned by this go-to restaurant to paint four gigantic scenes evocative of the Big Apple. (Our favorite: the New York Yankees at practice.) One bite of any of the Grill’s top-notch steaks — imported or Japanese — brings out the best of both worlds.
