Those craving a vineyard-style escape among the hustle of the city should immediately head to the one and only Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa in the U.S., located inside The Plaza Hotel. With a veritable gold mine of grape seeds at its disposal for use in massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, and wraps, the spa will leave you with glowing, gorgeous skin. Plus, grape seeds are high in anti-oxidants. Begin with the Wine Barrel Bath by soaking in a deep, hot tub enriched with rich, micro-crushed grape residue. Enhanced with a cranial massage, your body will relax to its fullest. During your treatment, organic draining herbal tea (with red vine leaves and grapes) is served. Follow with a Wine Maker’s Massage, a recreation of the ritualistic steps of winemaking. A barehanded massage of crushed cabernet seeds is alternated with a winemaker’s stick in rolling motions that rejuvenate you from head to toe — and, like a fine wine, you will emerge feeling smooth, balanced, and brilliant. Afterwards, a sommelier awaits you in the French Pardox lounge for a wine tasting. There are a variety of sitting areas, but the focal point is a floor-to-ceiling, glass-encased collection of wines. Small dishes, selected by the founders to complement and enhance the flavors of the wine, can be ordered to accompany your wine-tasting.
