Kidding Around

Boom boxes (blasting everything from salsa to disco, reggae to rock) enliven the atmosphere at Key Biscayne’s Crandon Park Beach, a three-mile stretch of sand bursting with kids just wanting to have fun. The lagoon-style beach is perfect for family outings, especially thanks some extensive care-taking facilities (13 lifeguard stations, constant beach patrol, and beach wheelchair rentals). Not far beyond the sea there’s a whole lot more, including 493 acres of park (with dozens of picnic tables and barbecue grills) and an amusement center with surfside carousel, outdoor skating rink, and a splash fountain. Ample parking in three different lots.
4000 Crandon Blvd.
