Time To Play

Youngsters staying at the Sheraton Waikiki will want to check out the resort’s new Helumoa Playground, a big deal with two fresh-water swimming pools, a 70-foot-long waterslide, an interactive fountain area, two large whirlpools with Waikiki Beach views, and chaise water sunning benches. Daily activities include lei making, waterslide races, and hula lessons. The playground, set between the Sheraton Waikiki and The Royal Hawaiian, is also open to Royal Hawaiian guests. Tip for parents kicking back with their kids: Try the shaved ice cocktails from the resort’s RumFire restaurant or the four-tapas tasting menu for $50, celebrating the State of Hawaii’s 50th anniversary.
